The holidays used to be called the “holy days,” a time of reflection and preparation for the year ahead. When you enter rehab, that is what holidays can be: a time for looking back over your life, seeing where your choices have brought you and learning new coping strategies for the future.
Outpatient rehab is not as restrictive as inpatient, so you won’t have to stay all day in the facility. Outpatient rehab will give you a respite—a safety valve away from the relentless shopping, family time and stress of the holiday season. If you have family you don’t enjoy spending time with, rehab can provide a means of dealing with those emotions. If you are alone during the holidays, this opportunity gives you company so you don’t end up alone.
At Cumberland Heights, we include telehealth consultations and appointments, so you won’t be out of contact with counselors and therapists when needed. You can still meet with your counselor via a telehealth link even if you cannot be in a session due to family obligations.
